Looking Ahead: shopAGO Reopens This November
Something new is taking shape at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
This fall, shopAGO will reopen after a major transformation of its 5,068-square-foot retail space, and we’re excited to see OBJ STUDIO return as part of this evolving destination for art, design, and thoughtful gifting.
The refreshed shop is expected to open in November 2026, bringing a new energy to the AGO’s Dundas Street West entrance.
More Than a Museum Shop
The redesigned shopAGO will become a brighter, more open space for visitors and the wider Toronto community.
Led by B+H Architects and CHIL Interior Design, the renovation will introduce new wood and glass fixtures, additional seating, a dedicated maker space, a coffee bar, and public washrooms.
One of the changes we’re most excited about is accessibility. The new shop will overlook Dundas Street West and will be open to the public without requiring museum admission.
The goal is to make the space more than a place to shop — a place to meet, explore, discover design, and spend time together.
OBJ STUDIO at shopAGO
shopAGO has been an important home for OBJ STUDIO in Toronto.
As a local design studio, we value being part of a space that brings together Canadian design, art, books, Indigenous-designed products, artisan pieces, and objects for everyday life.
OBJ STUDIO’s collection of sculptural 3D-printed home objects is designed and made in Toronto, using plant-based PLA and a production process that allows us to explore form, texture, and material in new ways.
Seeing our work represented within the Art Gallery of Ontario has been a meaningful part of our journey, and we’re excited for what comes next.
See You in the New Space
While construction continues, shopAGO is operating satellite locations throughout the museum.
When the main store reopens in November 2026, we’ll be making a visit to experience the refreshed space, discover its new atmosphere, and see OBJ STUDIO within its next chapter.
We can’t wait to see the transformation come to life.
