Why We Started OBJ STUDIO

There was a moment when we began questioning the objects around us.

Not only how they looked, but how they were made, where they came from, and what they ultimately leave behind. Modern living has become deeply connected to convenience — fast production, fast consumption, and fast disposal. Many everyday home decor objects are created through systems built around excess, often relying on oil-based plastics and large-scale manufacturing disconnected from intention or care.

OBJ STUDIO began as a response to that discomfort.

We wanted to create contemporary home objects differently. Not louder. Not trend-driven. Simply more thoughtful, more sculptural, and more intentional.

The idea was never to create more products for the sake of consumption. It was to create modern design objects worth living with — sculptural vases, planters, and functional art pieces that feel calm, refined, and emotionally lasting within a space. Objects that quietly shape interiors rather than overwhelm them.

Our work is deeply inspired by organic forms found in nature, contemporary architecture, and sculptural design. Soft curves, flowing silhouettes, compressed volumes, and biomorphic movement all influence how each object takes shape. We are drawn to forms that feel naturally evolved — shapes that bring softness, balance, and quiet presence into modern interiors.

Material choice became equally important to us.

Rather than relying on conventional plastics, every OBJ STUDIO piece is 3D printed in Toronto using plant-based PLA (Polylactic Acid), a more thoughtful alternative to petroleum-based materials commonly used in mass production. Through intentional small-batch production, we are able to maintain greater control over process, waste, and material usage while creating sculptural decor objects designed for everyday living.

But OBJ STUDIO is not about perfection, nor is it about presenting sustainability as a trend.

We simply believe people are becoming more conscious about the objects they choose to live with. We believe modern home decor should balance design, functionality, and responsibility. Objects influence atmosphere, routine, emotion, and the experience of living itself.

To us, thoughtful design is not decoration alone.

It is presence.
It is feeling.
It is the relationship between objects, people, and space.

OBJ STUDIO exists somewhere between functional art and contemporary home decor — creating sculptural objects designed to live quietly within modern interiors.

This is only the beginning.

A new era of home objects is slowly taking shape.
